Well, Both titles would work out depending on how you see the the story's plot. Night could work out because of the amount of people killed. This could also work with the second title as well since it has the word "silent". However, Night would work just as well because the second title's meaning isn't really true. Now if you mean like the public, then yes this could work out very well. However if you mean everyone, then no, the Soviets knew about it and even tried to rescue the trapped inmates. But the second title could have some other meanings. It could mean silent as in the inmates in the camp remained silent to avoid being punished or even killed. So really, it's just how you see the plot that would determine what title would  fit more. But that sir is my honest opinion
