The 1936 Summer Olympics, also known as the Games of the XI Olympiad, was an international multi sport event that was held in 1936 in Berlin, Germany. The Olympics of 1936 started in the summer of August 1st through the 16th. 3963 athletes competed and 49 countries participated in 129 events. The Olympics of 1936 was not only remembered because of Jesse Owens but also because of Adolf Hitler's failed attempt to use then to prove his theories of aryan racial superiority
